About the Firm

Over 65 Years in Northwest Arkansas

Founded in 1947 by Courtney C. Crouch, Sr., Cypert, Crouch, Clark & Harwell, PLLC, is the oldest firm in Springdale, Arkansas, and one of the oldest firms in Washington County, Arkansas. After a short period of time as a solo practitioner, Courtney Crouch built the firm, which became known as Crouch, Blair, Cypert & Waters, from the ground up. One of the original members of the firm, James D. Cypert, retired in 2014 after 55 years as an attorney.

The tradition of exceptional legal service to Northwest Arkansas businesses and families is carried on by current partners James CrouchWilliam Clark, Jr.Charles Harwell, Matthew Fryar, and Laura K. Ferner with associate attorney Ellen J. Tinnin.  Our attorneys have more than 120 combined years of legal experience, all in Northwest Arkansas.  Though we are a relatively small firm, we are capable of handling litigation and transactions of all sizes and scopes.

Our dedicated, hard-working staff members have been a vital part of the quality service we provide to our clients.  All of our staff members have long tenures with our firm. Our staff includes Beckie Thompson (42 years of service), Tami Dean (23 years of service), and Brandi Samuels (22 years of service). Their length of service speaks to the firm’s stability and how much we value relationships in our firm. Brandi Samuels graduated from Northwest Arkansas Community College in 2010 with an associate’s degree as a paralegal.

A Client-Centered Approach

Our approach to law is rooted in the personal relationships we form with clients, their businesses, and their families. Our focus is on your overall goals and needs---not simply on an isolated legal matter. In practice, this means, first, that for many clients we are their lawyers for life. As individuals come to trust us in advising them, we often have the opportunity to serve them further through different areas of the law. For example, a business client may later use us for estate planning that integrates his or her business interests with family financial planning. Because we understand their overarching goals, we can help clients plan over time and handle all legal issues as they arise. Second, our attention to having a full, personal understanding of a client's needs makes our services cost-effective: our familiarity with your work, your family, and the Arkansas business climate allows us to be effective in a prompt, budget-wise manner.

We value our relationships with our clients and believe that each client deserves exceptional legal service.
